One of my biggest fears happened last Saturday.
My MacBook crashed.
It's just funny how it happened. How I planned to go into the city that day and finally get an external hard-drive to help me back up ALL my work/files. I now have a new hard-drive that I didn't even have to pay for... but all my stuff is gone. All my treasured photos since I moved to NY have gone ka-pish!
It's such a hassle to pick-up the pieces now, whatever was left of it. I don't even know where to start.

did they already reformat the drive? i dont have a mac, but i'm sure you can salvage stuff from a hard drive by mounting it externally from a working computer and running some sort of recovery program.. i'm a n3rd like that
OH NO!!!! :( thats really bad new pau. :(
omigod! i am so sorry for your loss. that is also one of my biggest fears! ok, i think i will fix up my external hard drive this weekend.. :p
lovine: they said theres a way to do it, and it has a price tag of around a thousand bucks... i have no idea how to do it.. :(
angel: malaking sigh.
kaye: BACK-UP!!!! NOW!!!!!
shet, bibili na rin ako ng external drive... ay wait, i barely have any files here! hahahaha. all my manila files are stored in CDs at home.
yun ang kailangang kopyahin sa HD.
hope you can save some files still pau. :(
if you go on craigslist (http://newyork.craigslist.org/search/bbb?query=data%20recovery) i'm sure you'll find a nerd who can do it for you for much cheaper. worth trying, versus losing data that's priceless. as long as the drive isn't physically damaged (like if you hear a clicking sound), you can recover a lot without problems. also, if they reformatted the drive and you're using it right now, you're shit out of luck.
hi gel and kaye :)
the drive had this clicking sound... and i think it's too late for that na. im using the new hard drive... sigh. :(
