not as planned...

For weeks, I obsessed over today ( two-day holiday) being spent with breakfast at Almondine, a second round of Murakami at the Brooklyn Museum and relaxing the rest of the afternoon at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden.

None of which was accomplished.

The Brooklyn Museum is closed on Tuesdays and it was too late to go to the Brooklyn Botanical Garden since I side tracked a bit. I did swing by Almondine but never got the chance to try out the Parisian macaroons which was the reason I came via the F train to DUMBO in the first place.

Instead, I walked around the Meatpacking district and did some gallery hopping to see art shows I wanted to visit. I particularly wanted to see Who's Afraid of Jasper Johns? and Kerry James Marshall. Since I was in the area, I indulged my self by popping in Comme des Garçons and Balenciaga to see amazingly sick clothing. DUMBO wasn't a disappointment either, I finally got to visit Zakka (my once secret store who moved away from Grand st. in SoHo) and explore the neighborhood which I found kind of "upcoming but not" with it's weird vibe.

So photos.

My two-day holiday is almost over. I'm kind of thrown out of my loop and will be back with regular programming tomorrow. Sigh.
