Tribeca used to be my neighborhood when I interned as a photo-studio assistant last summer. It's a place where you find a million babies, organic food stores in every corner and fresh air (it's right next to the Hudson River). Yesterday brought me back to the neighborhood to have coffee with Andrea, whom I used to intern for. It's nice to come back to her studio and look around and see what keeps her busy these days. We updated each other with each of our own projects and crap to deal with. I'm really glad I was able to hang out with her for awhile while enjoying my "free" (LONG STORY! Andrea is so guerilla) iced-coffee. I would like to pop-in again and visit her some time soon, it's always nice talking to her.
After Andrea's, I headed over to Chinatown to have dimsum. This is when I realized that dimsum is something you eat with other people. It wasn't as enjoyable to eat alone and have piles of aluminum trays building up in front of you. That kind of felt weird.
I then found myself trekking over to Williamsburg later in the afternoon to meet up with Agustin and Ana at Mccarren Park to sit and lay on the grass. We walked around the Renegade Craft Fair (silk screening, stitching and DIY galore!) and spent a good 15 minutes looking for the coolest (temp wise) drink available in the deli. With the weird weather, me and Agustin ended up in some bar with his friends drinking at 4pm and playing a deer hunting video arcade game. I sucked at it but enjoyed the company tremendously!
I got home around 8pm feeling confused from the alcohol and just being physically exhausted. I did manage to cook dinner and take a shower before hitting the sack.
So, there went my Saturday.

I have a new toy from work:
ITS A BLACK SPIDER! I don't know where it's made but it has got to be the coolest and most amazing thing I have seen in my store for a while. I had to get it. It's made of wooden pieces that appear to be a clothes pin and wire, so crafty.
