stuff.

Next to Poppies, I love Venus Fly Traps. Just this winter I found out that you could buy them at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden, which is two blocks away from where I live. Ever since spring has kicked in I've been obsessing on getting my own for my room. When I visited Mel in Boston, I found some for sale at the Science Museum but decided not to get it since I didn't want to lug around a tiny plant with me back to NY on a bus. Then a couple days ago I was blog hopping and found this girl who made her very own carnivorous plant terrarium and of course I got envious and started to do research on how to take care of one. I even came across this site where one section was fully devoted to Venus Fly Traps. I'm sort of pissed off though, since I found out that they need a lot of sun. My apartment is in a courtyard and it just so happens that my side of the building doesn't get a lot of sunlight. I occasionally do get sunlight in my room but only in the mornings and this now frustrates me. Anyway, I'm still tempted to get one out of curiosity. We'll see how it goes.

This morning I walked into our store and guess who was there?

Sophia!

My favorite (super tiny) three year old New Yorker. She comes in every so often with her nanny and I always make sure I say hello to her when she does. My heart melts when I see her, so amazingly cute!

I had brunch with Chris (one of the kids I work with) last Saturday and it sort of made me think that most if not all of the people I hang out with end up to be fellow foodies. Anyway, I had breakfast tacos and a glass of Mimosa. This made me realize why people are lit up like a tree during brunch. Haa-Ha!

Theres this really nice orange round mid-century table with a drop leaf in our store that I've been wanting to buy for weeks now. I know I shouldn't get it because I have no space in the apartment. I've been really obsessed with it and finally I decided to look at it with scrutiny before I really decide to get it (to hell with lack of space in my room!). I'm really frustrated that the legs turned out to be really wobbly. I know they weren't like that last time I checked... some dumb fuck customer of ours probably screwed it up! I'm sort of glad though, otherwise I'll be kicking myself in the head for buying it and ending up with no space in my room at all. However, I still "want" it in my head. Whatevs.
