show some love.

The Pope is in town.

And whether or not his Holiness' red loafers are Prada, there are other things that people will scrutinize him for. He is, after all, in the city where every body has an opinion.

Just the other, days prior his arrival to NY, one of my customers came in complaining how they completely shut down the area of the Flatiron building. She said that the NYPD were practicing for the Pope's arrival, and that it was causing gridlock. She said she hated the Pope not only because of the hassle of his arrival brings but for other things as well. Big deal she said. Now this to me is strange, coming from my only memory of a Pope's visit back in 7th grade for the World Youth Day with the cheer "John Paul 2, we love you!". I'm sure there are other people who are excited for his arrival... but when you realize how such a holy man could have haters you think about instances of the Church's conflicts in society. It's conflicts have made it become some what controversial. This saddens me.

Anyway, the Pope's mass at Yankee stadium is sold out, at least I know 53,000+ people will show him some love.
