Hopping on a bus to Boston tomorrow but will have to go and catch the William Blake exhibit for a class at the Morgan Library in midtown with a couple kids from school. It should be interesting especially two of my classes (Artist's Books and German Art) have a topic that has overlapped with each other and that I'm quite obsessing about: Caspar David Friedrich, a German Romantic artist. Actually spent a good hour in the library sketching after his drawings and prints. So eerily beautiful those landscapes are.

Funny how my painting professor asked me how I'm liking Pratt and I told him that it's definitely been going well except for the readings that I get assigned each week. I honestly told him that I don't mind doing the reading assignments but the thing is I just spend more time in the library than in the studio and I don't like that. He nodded and agreed with me and said that "Yeah, I don't like that either...".
Next week I plan to hit quite a few galleries in Chelsea to see some shows. Half of the tag-team professors I have for painting (I get two under one class) conveniently gave out a list of shows to see, so I'll be using that to map out the stuff I'ld like to see. Will be adding Juergen Teller's show to the list, even though I already know what I'm going see, white washed photos. Also including that Kara Walker show where she's doing a collaboration with another artist. All that Saturday for next week.
OH! Finally saw The September Issue last night and have been smitten by this lady...

More than the Ice Queen or the magazine itself, she has become the unsung hero of this documentary. Please adopt me Grace Coddington.
Now or some strange ice cream flavors care of Empire Ice Cream from BlackBird Candy Shop (all photos from Black Bird)

Looking forward to spending time in Boston for Mel's bday weekend. I'll be cooking dinner for her and Abe. I haven't seen her in a long time so I'm very excited!
Ok, back to work.
