last day first day.

Today was my last day at work. Technically, I'm still working there but won't be in like my usual 40+ hour week. My sched in school is only allowing me to do two full days and thats it. Not really sure as to how the financial needs will be met but I think I'll be ok if I use my money correctly. No more impromptu Barney's Warehouse Sales for me I guess in the next two years. Whatever. I think today really marked that last day at work with all these...

- came in in such a rush and in such a good mood even though I was half an hour late
- had iced coffee
- scarfed down my lunch in 5 minutes by the register while sitting on a library stool
- no cunty customers
- saw all the customers whom I've become friends with and made sure I got their contacts to invite them for shows at school
- sold a shitload of furniture left and right
- carried two stainless steel tables from a nearby apartment
- did garbage
- cleaned the bathroom
- bagged so much crap, I meant treasure for customers
- helped so many sweet old ladies
- got a vintage wooden box, a Penguin shirt and a ton of tin muffin trays for mixing paint

I could say I breezed thru today and felt that I did so much. I've been there for almost two years now so maybe thats why everything I do there is second nature. It will be a huge change for me not to be there 24/7 (HA!) but I'm really looking forward to all that shifting of priorities.

I'm very thankful that I landed this job. It's an amazing place where I have been learning a lot of things you won't find at a regular 9-5. Plus I'm given the chance to actually make store front windows for our store! I work with an amazing group of people whom have been very supportive from the day I told them about my plans to go back to school. My manager talked to me the other day that if I needed to, I am more than welcome to work more hours. She also mentioned that once I get the rhythm of things at school and can make time to make our windows again I should just tell her.

Tomorrow I start school. I got my studio assignment and keys today along with my ID. Officially I'm a student again. I still haven't seen my studio since I was in a mad rush to leave right after meeting with the studio manager becuase I had to hop on a train to get to the city and work by noon. I'm coming to school early tomorrow to finally inspect my new home for two years. Earlier in the day I was making a mental list of things that I would be needing to set-up and settle in.

- clip on lamps
- light bulbs
- table
- chair
- calendar
- extension chord

I did however forget to ask if I did get a solo studio. The studio manager didn't mention that I was sharing the space with anyone so I guess not. I think I was too excited to get the one that I asked for when the survey was given a couple weeks ago.

CANT WAIT.

Ok, I'm going to have to make dinner now and head to bed. Big day tomorrow. Also watching my friend Lisa perform in the evening. She's a comedienne.
