squeezing out a golden egg and something else comes out...

I really haven't updated this thing in a while except posting a video or a couple photos every now and then which doesn't really count as "posting". Whatevs.

The past week has been quite productive. Having a slew of days off from Passover I got to stay at home and actually paint. Was able to kick back a little and relax in between those days by having dinner at Rachel's and hitting the MoMA with Regis. The most important thing I guess was being able to finish the amount of painting done I've set myself to do the past week. Maybe a little more? Anticipating this weeks trip to London (thats about five days of non painting time for me) I sort of have to set my mind to really painting a storm before I leave.

Tonight was the unexpected dinner with Rachel at Petite Abeille (probably my favorite restaurant in the city) where we drank Belgian beer and had a ton of food while gabbing about almost everything. There is no shame when we talk to each other. I was a little bit pissed for having to work today being Easter when everyone was out having brunch and being all drunk at 4pm while I had to deal with assholes who come in on Sundays. Trust me, weekend shoppers are different from regular shoppers at my store. But I guess that dinner with Rachel was all I needed today. Very very happy about that one.

Some sad news though. I've come to the conclusion that all my favorite spots in the city are closing out of business. Remember Sparky's (I took Arnie to this one)? Well, one of my little luxuries in the city is closing next week: Amai Tea House on 3rd Ave. I found out this morning that they're closing next week (April 19). No more green tea muffins, pear ginger tea or chocolate almond croissants I reward myself on Mondays or Thursdays. It's really sad that places like these close down while Chase and Duane Reades populate and dominate every corner in this city. Just how Starbucks fucked just about every block of NY. How many do we need? Really.

Today being Easter, I bring you a treat from my store. It's a sugar Easter Egg from who knows when. Maybe the 1950's?! Anyway, look at it closely and there's a tiny surprise in it. One of the few oddities I encounter daily at work.
