Pratt it is. Although I'm still waiting for my financial aid packet they're sending me (this will be a huge deciding factor if I could afford school or not) I've already set my mind that I would be attending Pratt in the fall. I got goosebumps from passing by the school the other day on my way to our warehouse in Clinton Hill.
So, it was no big deal that school #3 turned me down yesterday. No need to buy another ticket to somewhere, haha.
Initially, Columbia was my first choice when I finally decided to apply for grad school. Pratt was #2 then Hunter. Then sometime in December as I was doing my applications and went to all the three info sessions Pratt became #1, Hunter next and Columbia last. After talking to my folks and while on the plane back to NY, I thought Hunter would be the one. Financially and time wise it could allow me to be a bit more relaxed with their 3 year program. So for the past few months I had Hunter in my head and of course when they turned me down I was devastated and bought a ticket to London thinking "Fuck this, I'm never going to school again!". Then Pratt's little surprise came in the mail a few weeks after that and their letter sent me to the moon. Heck, Pratt was in the back of my head all the while. Columbia's decision was the punctuation mark I needed for my grad school sentence.
I'm not given the burden of picking between any school now. 1 out of 3, it's all good. Now I'm really set to leave for London in three weeks for a very long weekend!
