die by D.I.Y. #1

Ever since working in the store, I've learned a couple tricks. I can re-upholster a simple chair, refinish, rewire a lamp/chandelier etc. Things I've picked-up at work are things that are actually pretty handy. I know when I get a place of my own, it would be all about D.I.Y.

The first of many, here's something I've been working on... a 1950's book shelf for my room. It desperately needed a paint job. Blond wood just isn't me.

Not exactly the ultimate D.I.Y. project but I guess it involves a little bit of elbow grease... especially I had to sand down the finish to make sure the paint job would stick. The many miracles a coat of paint could do. White works best for me in my opinion.


I'm currently moving stuff around in my room and also getting rid of a lot of junk. Artworks that have been on the floor are starting to find their way up the wall. The main goal for all this redecorating is that to make more space for me to paint. So far, it looks good.
