banksy.

Two Saturdays ago, after watching Spring Awakening, me and Ricky were walking around and found ourselves in the West Village. Having heard (and read) about Banksy's first NY show that was in the neihborhood I wanted to drop by and see it.

I like Banksy's work, a lot. My liking to his work goes beyond that of graffiti's innate cool. When I was in Hong Kong three years ago I bought his book Wall & Piece and read it while I was waiting to board the flight back to Manila. Essentially, what attracts me to his work is his philosophy and his way with images and text. There's so much satire and wit that goes into it.

The pet place cum deli is called The Village Pet Store and Grill. It has got to be one of the most awe inspiring shows I've seen so far. The humor, the robotics and the excitement to see his works was just bananas. Luckily, photos were allowed...

My absolute favorite has got to be the fish sticks swimming in this huge fish bowl. I'm still stumped as to how these things were made...

Another reason to love and be thankful for being in NY.
