Since my last check-up I have been following a strict bland diet. I've been reading up on GERD and picked-up a tip on keeping a food journal to find out which foods triggers heart burn. For two weeks now I have been vigilant in writing down everything I eat just so I know which ones work for me.
Some entries from my food journal...
8/16/08
Dinner (8pm): pasta w/ turkey sausage and squash
Gatorade
graham crackers + marshmallows (3 pcs.)
- no weird stomach pains
8/17/08
Breakfast (9am): toasted english muffin
cherry preserves jam
smoothie (apple juice, aloe vera, banana, 1/2 peach)
- no weird stomach pains
Snack (12:45nn): banana
peanut butter sandwich
- burning and twisting sensation by 2:35pm
- very uncomfortable
- peanut butter?!?!
Lunch (3:40pm) : repeat off last night's dinner
apple sauce with peach
- no pain
Dinner (9:30pm) : chicken soup
Gatorade
-OK!

I'm afraid my taste buds are already dead. I haven't had coffee, soda, chocolate and dairy for almost three weeks now. Last night I had my first dinner out with Chris and Ryan at this Mexican place. I had chicken enchiladas and to my delight the cheese and tomato sauce didn't do anything to harm my stomach. Does this mean I can have dairy and tomato?
I'm worried I might have ulcer.

well, i sort of had something like you had (i had to be taken to the hospital to be injected for pain killers - i had extreme pains in my stomach. I was also required to do ultrasounds, it lasted for a week kasi), i found that after a while I could eat almost whatever. I just brought maalox with me for about a month, just in case :) so I guess you're getting better :)
ay nako kaye, salamat!... ewan ko ba kung ano ito. alam mo naman how much i love to eat, tapos ito pa mangyari sa akin... anyway, i do hope mawala na siya... running to 3 weeks na. pero now medyo nawawala na siya minsan, not as painful as the first two weeks.
wow grabe ang tagal! i'm glad it's getting better tho! you can go back na to being the foodie you once were with a vengeance. haha! :D
