wet shine.

One of the first things I do when I wake up is press F12 to check on the day's weather. Today wasn't what I hoped for: rain + wind. I hate going outside when it's raining and the idea of having the wind blow your (cheap) umbrella inside out is an embarrassing situation. But since I didn't want to waste my day by staying at home I hopped on a D train uptown to catch "DARGERISM: CONTEMPORARY ARTISTS AND HENRY DARGER" at the American Folk Art Museum.


I may have found my work's "father" in Henry Darger. I see a great similarity in his work to mine. Something I never have thought of. Thank you TONY magazine for that article written about the show I got really curious to see this exhibition. I didn't even know who Darger was until the bus ride home from Boston when I read the article. His work was familiar from books and magazines but didn't know it was him. Things like this excites me!

I might come see the show again soon, but I want to save up for the book ($45) and dvd ($25) about him and his work first.

The drizzling rain also lead me to go to the MoMA and walk around 5th Ave. to look at store windows. This is what I saw: COLOR!
