mailman.

Ever since I moved here, the one thing I looked forward to was to get mail. Receiving mail, to me, was a sign that I legitimately lived here. When I had just moved and didn't have a job one of the things I did in the afternoons was to check our mailbox and get my room mates' mail. In those days of heavy anxiety I wished someone sent something.

My very first mailman delivery was a rejection letter from an internship I applied for with this magazine I have always dreamed of working for. It said " Dear Mr. Blah, blah blah blah we are sorry that our spring internship program is already full blah blah blah". Whatevs, I kept the letter just in case for future use. Thinking I will have my "revenge".

Anyway, I still get excited over mail. As of late, it has always been these annoying banks offering me credit cards. But yesterday I got this...

A mail package from the Brooklyn Museum.

It contained a Brooklyn Museum tote, a thank you letter, my membership card, an A-Z brochure about my membership and a raffle stub for some event in March. More importantly, tho it wasn't inside, was the excitement it brought me an inch closer to THE show I am looking forward to see this Spring: ©MURAKAMI.
